1265356 2012-03-15 20:46:00 Hi all, got a curious one here. The neighbors HP 6710 has builtin Intel Wireless G which appears to have stopped see networks. I though perhaps the aerial was busted inside so installed a working USB wireless, however that doesnt see any networks either. If I plug it into my desktop i just onto the enterprise network with no issues.
Wired network works on this laptop, but to be sure I tried winsock fix, so no luck.
There must be some issue with the XP build, perhaps a virus or something has disable wireless?, has anyone seen this before, or have any suggestions.

1265358 2012-03-15 21:05:00 Yes, remember this was a working adapter, I thought the issue was it failed, however 2 other working adapters USB & PCIMIA cards have failed to resolve the issue. SolMiester (139)
1265359 2012-03-15 21:24:00 Does an error appear under the wireless nic in device manager? If you double click on it? Maybe the wireless service is stuffed or something? Does it use its own program or windows for the wireless? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1265360 2012-03-15 21:55:00 No, there is nothing wrong with the devices, i believe its a software issue, corrupted windows settings or something, just running malwarebytes now to see if that clears anything out....up to 164 objects!!! SolMiester (139)
1265361 2012-03-15 22:52:00 Okay, 185 nasties, mostly My Web search, about 5 suspect files.
Im quite sure its a software issue now as NETStumbler sees all the local AP's....

1265362 2012-03-15 22:56:00 Run rkill on it too. To see if it kills any background processes / malware Speedy Gonzales (78)
1265363 2012-03-15 23:37:00 Okay, had to run SP3 again, but that's done the trick!...wahey...Im good! SolMiester (139)
