1264614 2012-03-13 03:45:00 Am going to get a new monitor for my PC, but would like some feedback on the monitors I've shortlisted as I have never used an Asus, AOC or LG monitor - does anyone else here use a monitor from either brand? Any noteworthy feedback?

Want it to have an HDMI port, and LED monitor and be at least 22" . IPS panel monitor was suggested to me, but that's out of my budget, & LED will nevertheless be a nice upgrade from my current monitor .

My PC is used for everything basically - surfing internet, working on MS Office documents, gaming, and some Photoshop & Illustrator - with the last 2 points in mind colour, clarity & refresh rate has to be decent .

Also, with some of the shortlisted below - can't seem to tell whether the ports are at the "bottom" of the monitor, as in the cables would stick up into the ports, and not out the back of the monitor (meaning I'd need to watch the space between the monitor and the wall behind), please can anyone who might have any of the below monitors let me know if the position of the ports on the monitor would be a problem .

ViewSonic

AOC

LG

Asus

Sorry for the lots of links, but I really am keen for your feedback - don't want to end up with a monitor that disappoints me .

Thanks!

1264616 2012-03-13 03:54:00 I've owned several AOC monitors I got mainly because they are cheap and have been pretty happy with them. I currently have a 27" AOC and a 22" samsung(which is also a tv). The AOC surprisingly has the nicer picture of the two, but I wonder if that's because the samsung is primarily a tv.

LG has the better reputation of those you listed I think and Viewsonic is a reasonable brand, but I have stuck with AOC myself. At a similar price range there doesn't tend to be an awful lot of difference between monitors as they are all using the same basic hardware and technology. I'd personally just reccomend picking the model that has the most features you want.

I have my eye on that too. toying with that or one of the AOC's... decisions decisions!

It's good to know that no one seems to have had bad experience with AOC's.

It works fine still. No dead pixels.
