| 1264476 | 2012-03-12 03:28:00 | An animal jumped on a friend's Vista laptop, it blue-screened, now the optical drive doesn't work. A USB optical drive won't work either. Uninstalling + scanning for changes seemed to proceed OK but did not complete successfully These two optical drive are the only yellow exclamation points. Any ideas? |

| 1264478 | 2012-04-09 07:59:00 | To tidy this thread: I saw my friend today and he said it's a known problem with Vista. Something to do with a registry filter. Microsoft has provided a button that you press to correct it | BBCmicro (15761) | ||
| 1264479 | 2012-04-09 08:14:00 | They're probably using something like daemontools, or a roxio cd writing program. Which can stuff up the upper/lower filters entries in the registry. And this will stop a cd/dvd from working | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
