| 5542 | 2000-07-22 10:06:00 | Dear Juha... I'm have been using Windows 98 second edition, and since I have installed an HP 9100i CD writer I have been having all sorts of conflicts with my HP5p scuzi scanner. The conflicts were so bad that I uninstalled 2nd edition. I resolved the conflicts with the scanner and the cd writer by visiting the adaptec site and downloading an aspi prog update. This program update is necessary for computers that have problems with peripherals such as DVD players, and multi CD-ROM players after installing HP scanning software. Since doing all this my Outlook email doesn't work any more. The problem is creating and sending mail. Also I am unable to open my address book, 'as it may not be installed properly'. I have reinstalled outlook 4.0 but the problem persisted. I thought the act of uninstalling second edition caused the problem, so I reinstalled Windows 98 from my windows\options\cabs files. No luck there so I reinstalled Outlook 4.0 from the windows setup from with the add/remove programmes window. No luck. I naiively thought that reinstalling second edition would help, but to no avail - Outlook 5.0 isn't! I'd really appreciate a solution here, everything was fine with 2nd edition till i installed the F****n CD writer. It doesn't pay to upgrade anything I've now decided. Yours for ever hopefully Campbell |
