I was pleased to see a article (July 2000) written by Juha Saarinen about Java programming. The article interested me because (being a newbie to programming) this gave me an introduction to some resources. Would it be possible for someone to tell me of a real beginners guide to programming. Could it also include a guide to what resources should be used and purchased. From what i can gather the natural progression should be QBASIC to Visual Basic to C to C++/Delphi/Java, etc. What is the best way to go about this progression? Where are the best free resources and web-resources regarding the matter? Any help would be appreciated.
