| 5566 | 2000-07-26 00:19:00 | I've got a four year old Pentium 133 which currently has 32Mb of RAM, comprised of four 8Mb modules. I understand that Pentium machines have two 'banks', each of which takes two modules which must both be the same capacity. Would it therefore be okay for me to remove two of the 8Mb modules and replace them with two 32Mb modules to make a total of 80Mb (i.e. 8+8+32+32)? Also, would it be safe for me to assume that this machine takes 72 pin SIMMs? What about DIMMs? Would I be able to install one 64Mb DIMM instead of two 32Mb SIMMs? What's the current cost in the market for a second hand 32Mb EDO SIMM? Thanks. |
