| 5769 | 2000-08-08 05:49:00 | I recently reformatted my hard drive and began reinstalling software only to find that i had no record of my windows 98 product key number. My vendor is unable to assist. i registered my software online at purchase time but the woman i talked to at the microsoft helpdesk claims they do not keep a record of product key numbers. | 5774 | 2005-03-13 20:29:00 | johnboy, if he has reformatted, there is no way the programs can recover the key from the HDD . That will only work if there is a version of Windows installed, and for which the key has been used . Until it has been used, it does not exist . It cannot be found . |
