I have windows 98 and windows 2000 professional installed on my AMD K62 500 system using a Gigabyte Motherboard. I use Ihug as an internet provider and everything runs fast an perfect (50k Connects and fast downloads with complete reliability) on Windows 98 but in Windows 2000 I can't get connected unless I reduce the recieve buffers to 0 and I still get an average of 100 recieve errors a minute !. I have tried 3 different types of modem internal and external and replaced everything bar the CPU itself. formated and reinstalled but I still can't get Windows 2000 to run without these severe internet porblems but Windows 98 is perfect. Contaced Microsoft, Ihug and the modem manufacturers and had my lines checked and no one can figure it out... Hers a tough on for you ... can anyone give me an idea on why this is ?? |
