| 5761 | 2000-08-07 10:50:00 | I have recently installed a new hardrive ( kept the old one as a slave ) and installed WIN98 SE as the OS on the new master drive. Plug & Play recogises my internal USR Sportster X2modem as a 3Com Windows Modem TI and installs the driver - no problem, it works fine. However, when I reboot my PC and try and use my modem again I get the DUN error message 630 ( make sure modem is connected and switched on ). When I run the modem diagnostics thru Control Panel I get the error message 'can't open port'.There is no yellow exclamation mark by the modem in Control Panel. The only way to get the modem running again is to remove it and reboot my PC for another plug & play install. Is this a WIN98 SE problem? as I was previously running 98 no problem on the old HDD. Any help would be gratly appreciated. Cheers, |
