5750 2000-08-06 22:41:00 I just had to replace the li-ion battery on our laptop, and can't find anyone to give me information on battery recyling. The vendor didn't have any informa-tion on recycling programs. These batteries are full of heavy metals and it is an environ-mental crime to throw them into a landfill. I would like to see a program in place where any vendor that sells batteries is required to provide information about local recycling options for old batteries. Is everyone else throwing their batteries in the trash or are there recycling options one can follow? Guest (0)
5751 2001-07-19 21:53:00 Lithium Ion batteries are not considered to be an environmental risk, according to EPA (www.epa.gov).

Information Foundation are currently fundraising to build a battery and electrowaste recycling plant for more toxic and dangerous Nickel Metal Hydride and NiCd batteries.
