5844 2000-08-13 03:16:00 This annoying dialogue box which popped up on startup everytime was unsettling. I made a project out of it to stop it occuring including visiting F1.
No help there. My help came from my own inspiration after months of fruitless effort.
The answer to those experiencing this difficulty is to go at once to control panel.
Select Add/Remove Programmes.
Click on the Windows setup tab.
4th from the top in Win 98SE is communications. Highlight that.
Then click on Details towards the bottom left. Select Dial Up Networking and uncheck that box.
When prompted to shutdown, obey that command and you will notice two things. Your problem is solved, but you will have no route to your ISP - no dial up settings.
Repeat the above process in Control Panel and when selecting Dial Up Networking this time, check the box with a tick. Reboot
and you will notice two things. Your problem is solved, AND you will have your route back to your ISP. Your dial up settings were automatically re-installed.
