I am tossing up between cheap and cheaper. I was going to buy a Duron 600 and a compatable motherboard. But Im on a shoe string budget. The AMD k6-500 will save me a little more than $300. It is mainly for use in studying programming, but I do want to play some games so I will be buying an M64 32mb Graphics card. Will this CPU be grunty enough to handle the new games like Rugby 2001? I dont want to waste any money but if the K6-500 can handle it for now thats good enough for me. And in a years time I will sell it and upgrade to a Thunderbird. Any opinions?
