5872 2000-08-15 10:08:00 Have recently just started getting a problem when starting IE5.01 stating ? Iexplore .. this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down?. When reviewing the details, the informations is:

IEXPLORE caused an invalid page fault in
module <unknown> at 0000:f3b00372.

I have tried the add/remove function of auto repair for IE5 and get the message:

IE5 cannot be repaired due to the following errors:
An error occurred calling ?Dlllnstall? in ?C:\ Windows\System\shdocvw.dll? (HRESULT=80004005)

It then suggests running setup and reinstalling IE5, but in the process of rebooting after reinstalling, (at the time of configuring the program) the same ?an error occurred calling Dlllnstall ?.? is displayed.

There has been no new applications/programs installed on my computer recently, so I am at a loss to understand why the ?illegal operation? message etc etc is now constantly appearing when IE5 is loaded.

I have run scandisk etc from DOS & Windows and also Norton Disk Doctor but nothing is evident. Have also check Microsoft site and cannot find anything readily identifiable there

Any help to resolve would be appreciated or am I forced to reformat and reinstall the whole caboodle?

Am running Win95SR2 with 64mb RAM.
