6034 2000-08-28 00:52:00 I uninstalled some software which seems to have deleted some system files. I have a SCSI Sony CD Writer and a Hitachi IDE CDROM. The IDE CDROM no longer appears in explorer while the SCSI CDR appears but comes up with the message that it is inaccessable. The floppy disk works but only in DOS mode. In device manager there are exclamation points against Primary IDE Controller (dual fifo), Secondary IDE Controller (dual fifo) and Standard IDE/ESDI Hard Disk Controller. When using the Win98 Startup disk the IDE CDR is detected but comes up with an error that aspi2dos.sys initialization failed. The drive letter is there in DOS but doesnt work - DIR comes up with abort, retry, fail.
I think I am perhaps missing some vxd or dll files but I dont know which ones and i cant reinstall Win98SE without a working CDR. Any help would be appreciated.
