1242237 2011-11-06 06:04:00 I usually run or let my Ryobi HCD77 7.2V battery run flat, then charge for at least 3 hours then switch on to check if it runs at sufficient speed. But always have corded drills as back up. Maybe search for a manual, often they are in pdf. Some pdf's here (www.google.co.nz) - just refine your search, or visit their website. Though you can re-solder battery packs with single cells. kahawai chaser (3545)

Looked at doing it once about a year ago and it wasn't worth it.

1242240 2011-11-06 07:25:00 At the end of the day there are many variables like just how flat the battery is to start with, its internal resistance and just how much current is actually flowing etc.etc.

But I’ve had excellent results using one of those plug-in timers set for 3hrs.

Never cooked a battery since I've used one.

I did before though. ;)

it is an AEG battery powered "Powertac 18" Staple gun. Unit 322-129.
Fairly old model as cannot find a listing for it when I search the manufacturers web site or anywhere else (looking for a manual). Maybe I am just not searching right.
The Charging system is called SYSTEM ACCU 2000. Unit 932-318-593
Have found the battery in the Europe and USA but the price is more than it is worth, especially when you add freight
Plenty of AEG chargers but none look like the one I have here.
I have charged it for 2 hrs and it seems to be OK (Barely got warm), I am very happy with the stapler as it is in mint condition, hardly been used.
My fear is overcharging. 3 hrs sounds pretty good so I might stick to that in the absence of anything more specific.
I use a timer for my second drill battery, no problem there.

I thought that knowing the capacity of the battery and the specs of the charger some electrical wizard here might have been able to calculate the charge time

1242242 2011-11-06 20:39:00 Have you checked the regional websites suppliers for AEG? Some of those sites have manuals, in ePaper format (e.g. the UK AEG Catalogue (www.aeg-powertools.co.uk)), and as PDF including some for discontinued models. The nail guns seem to be at The Austrailian site here. (www.aegpowertools.com.au/)The main original German company no longer supplies AEG Powertools, which are now under license to Electrolux and Techtronic Industries (www.ttigroup.com), who then sub license (including Ryobi) to various worldwide suppliers. Thank for helping KW.
Aleady checked those sites. Only has the latest releases, not older appliances.
