1241965 2011-11-05 00:29:00 Snow has been quite heavy down here this morning. Cold but not freezing. Hard to believe snow to sea level at this time of year.

Summer is not far away I believe. :banana

I'm dreaming of a white christmas,
just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
to hear sleigh bells in the snow

1241970 2011-11-05 08:47:00 Fortunately the snow has now gone as quickly as it came. We are expecting the weather to improve with warmer temperatures. Bobh (5192)
1241971 2011-11-05 18:55:00 Yes, we have a photo still of husband and his snowman on November 5, the year before we left. It trashed my poor baby grapes, only ever got grapes once of that vine.............and it wiped out quite a bit of the vege garden too.

Southland does have an incredibly short summer.

Some advantages living here, I picked and dried loads of herbs yesterday, husband attended to the bean patch, I picked loads of strawberries and tied up the passionfruit and grape vines some more.
