1241588 2011-11-03 06:38:00 I can't understand the tardiness of the chipmakers with USB 3. Cicero (40)

You must agree they are not as ubiquitous as they might be?

Nope - it's a 5.25" device with a PCIe cable. :p

(As well as USB 2.0 for the card reader and two SATA connectors for front SATA and eSATA. :D)

1241595 2011-11-03 07:34:00 You must agree they are not as ubiquitous as they might be?I think you will find its because the standard hasn't long been finalised. plod (107)
1241596 2011-11-03 07:37:00 I think it's a bit of chicken-and-egg situation. Although the standard was announced a couple of years ago, making those "must-have" peripherals was tempered by the fact that it was expensive at first & also suited to a narrower range of devices than plain old USB2 (hard drives are pretty much the only real beneficiaries of the speed increase, especially if you consider market share). Consequently the case to fit USB3 at more expense wasn't compelling to the manufacturer. Now that the interface hardware is getting more common, & hence cheaper, the tipping point where USB3 takes over isn't far away.

I seem to remember much the same sort of sequence when USB2 got off to a sluggish start & finally displaced USB1.1.

1241597 2011-11-03 12:15:00 I think, This USB3 technology is type of hardware interface that been enabled in the computers to speed-up the data transmission.... now it is popular technology to transfer the data in computers.... for more information contact the professionals....! border (16597)
