1242507 2011-11-09 08:28:00 Interesting effect! I had a play in Irfanview and it seems that anything out of direct sunlight is showing a reasonable amount of green but the fringes between light and dark and the brighter areas are shades of magenta. It is almost as if a UV filter is missing, you haven't been licking the lense have you, or putting the camera throught the dishwasher to get rid of dirty pictures? :devil

All speculation aside, I'm picking that it might be the image sensor that is on the fritz. Maybe it is not being driven correctly and is operating in a non-linear part of its response curve (nothing to do with batteries). Apart from that, does the camera have any 'creative setting' modes? That could well produce this type of effect.

Cheers

I must get out of the habit of licking said lense, if this is the result.

1242510 2011-11-09 17:08:00 Nice jacket.
To clear things up.

My next door neighbour is an ex 747 pilot.
He has lots of planes including the Tiger, I asked for a ride and the rest is history, the jacket he bought in USA, he has more kit than you can poke a stick at.

1242511 2011-11-09 18:09:00 It may pay to give Canon nz a ring as there may be a chance to get it repaired for nothing if it is the CCD

www.canon.co.nz

Explain what the problem is and see what they say,but (and a big but),if it not the problem they will charge you

With camera's these days,you get very good value,remember paying $349 for a Canon A75 6/7 years ago
