| 1242187 | 2011-11-07 20:16:00 | 100% Iantech In the end i paid my 10 bucks, now there is no way to get it back, the company is worth 1.2 billion for a reason, and that is not by giving money back Ebay have a very bad habit of doing the same if they think you have done something against their T&C. I have heard of people with thousands not getting their money back for months. |

The only times you pay ebay is when you list and sell an item, no transactions are done through ebay, if someone hasnt got their money, it is probably paypal or some other payment facility - or the buyer has withheld it. I've been using ebay for about 8 or 9 years and had a paypal account for longer than that, never had any problems and never lost an item in the post (touch wood). I think you just need to be aware of where you are buying from, some countries I wouldnt buy from. |

Yep, they bought them out several years ago, it actually works better being a bit more intergrated with ebay, its easier to do transactions. There were a lot of problems before that with paypal, I think there were a few popular paypal hate sites started up (probably still are). |

Top it off I offered them some proof of alternate ID checkable options even offered to meet face to face. Guess what!!!! They still want a copy of my Driving Licence........ Why the hell do they want the Driving Licence details? |

You offer alternate ID and not your drivers license? Why? Because you are a dick . If you went to a restaurant and asked for white bread rolls, and they offered you brown bread rolls, or even offered to bake fresh buns in front of you, it still wouldn't satisfy your want for white bread rolls would it? As a general rule, only 3 types of ID are accepted in NZ . Drivers license, passport, or birth certificate . Put yourself in their shoes . They have an account that appears to have partaken in something dodgey, so you close the account . The 'owner' who you have never met, never spoken to, and wouldn't know from a bar of soap emails you claiming to be the owner and to please unlock his account . What do you do? You ask for a very common form of ID . When they respond and get snarky and dicky, you permanently delete the account, and block the 'owner's' emails as you have far better things on your mind . You have NO power over TradeMe . You are completely at their wishes and desires when it comes to your account . If you decided to take legal action over something so tiny - I'm sure their budget is vastly larger than yours, so you will die in court . Acting in a retarded manner like a spoiled brat of a 5 year old has got you no where has it? Stop being a moronic retard and give them the drivers license and get back your account . OR you can keep bitching and moaning to them and us, further proving to everyone what a dumb ****head you are . |

Because we only wish to buy and sell locally I guess. Being able to pick up purchases and use local delivery services suits me just fine and there is nothing on Ebay that I would want that I can't buy here. Personally I find Ebay a pain, it is just too big and unwieldy, and the few times I have searched for items I actually found them faster locally via TM anyway. And I still think Driver is dicking himself and nobody else with his (or her) 'cut of your nose to spite your face' tantrums. Its like...why would you use a search engine only NZers can use when you can just use Google....seriously why... Trade Me isn't a search engine, it is a trading site, however you can 'just use Google' to search TM as well if you want to, but searching TM on their own site is fast and efficient so why go elsewhere? If pay by cheque need other id. if i go thru custom may be asked for return tickets, evidence of holiday plans, hotel confirmation, contacts of friend family's.
