1265918 2012-03-20 04:27:00 Yep Facebook, the two I picked up were from Facebook. Describe as jpegs but were executables. Chrome didn't pick it up. The antivirus did. I wish I taken more notice of what they were before deleting.

Just looked back through the logs, it was a Trojan.

1265919 2012-03-20 05:29:00 Windows is more vulnerable than OSX by default because people only make malicious content for windows. OSX has a fairly bad protection system but relies on the fact that there is nothing to hurt the system. Slankydudl (16687)
1265920 2012-03-20 05:31:00 Why is OSX protection system worse then windows? plod (107)
1265921 2012-03-20 05:35:00 because its practically non existant. apple spends little time working on security whereas microsoft spends quite a fair amount of timing making there OS safe. Slankydudl (16687)

1265923 2012-03-20 05:48:00 when i say practically non existant i should really say that in terms of security against malicious software OSX will never be as good as windows and should never need to be. the fact that you can run OSX withought any anti virus software or anti malware is because there are hardly any viruses or malware that could "infect" your system. Windows security is much better because it needs to be. there a a large range of anti virus and anti malware software for windows thus making it the system with the better security. that being said windows machines have a higher chance of getting infected over there lifetime because there is a relativly high chance your computer will encounter malicious software. OSX will probably not because it shouldnt encounter any malicious software. this does not mean OSX is better protected but it does mean there is less threat. Slankydudl (16687)
