Two years, 100% positive feedback, verified by Trademe not long after I opened the account and now they want more proof of who I am. How much proof do they need and how much is reasonable? Gamejunkie, why am I not helping myself by stalling? explain what you mean by that? I am highlighting how farked up they are and inconsistant. It would not be so bad if they were not killing off the other traditional companies like Trade and Exchange for example.	driver (16592)

Everybody is honest until they first give in to temptation. The more time you waste wittering on about your good feedback and how nasty TM are, the less chance there is that you will ever be permitted back on their site. Like it or lump it, they own it, they make the rules, and no doubt they will get to hear about this thread too, which won't do you any good or make you any friends. Sending a copy of your DL is safe as houses, but if you are worried, make it monochrome. Either way you have to put up or shut up, because they are carrying all of the Aces, and fair enough too, all they want to do is make sure they actually know who you are. How much proof do they need and how much is reasonable? Since when was 100% positive feedback and address verification proof of your identity? I fail to see how you figure that one out! All it actually proves to them is you are probably a reliable trader and that the address you supplied to them is the same one at which you collected their letter, and absolutely nothing else. 1242183	2011-11-07 18:34:00	I dont have a trademe account because trademe does suck. I was pointed to an item once which looked interesting and wanted to ask the guy a question. I opened an account and still couldnt ask a question, they wanted $10 first. I wrote to them and told them I had no interest in selling anything on their site and just wanted to ask a question, their answer was "you pay $10 to prove you are a creditable user", I told them I use ebay and to prove I was a creditable user, I received positive feedback, I didnt have to buy it. Their response was... you pay your $10 and should you deceide to close your account in the future, we will give you $5 back (claiming the other $5 was for administration fees)!! It didnt take much to come to the conclusion that wasnt a very good investment of my $10 if I was to only get $5 back and told them so. So, the last email finished with "well, I can see your site is of no benifit to me, I will continue to use ebay, please close the account I had made". Their reply, "account has been closed, email us in the future if you wish to open one". They are a bunch of robbers End of story and morning rant :)	Iantech (16386)

The fact they wont explain why this has occurred or provide evidence and then want me to provide ID, of which I have checked I do not have to provide to them (privacy commisioner said so) . They will not know who I am form it either in fact there is a whole lot of people who they have done this to . Restricting peoples access encourages fraud . You explain how in a country of 4 million they have 3 . 8 million members? How many of our 4 million qualify for accounts over the minimum age? Yes GameJunkie I have to right to complain just as much as you do . And Agent24, since when does photocopying your driving licence and sending it via email prove you are who you say you are?
