1241680 2011-11-03 22:11:00 Just watched a gameplay video of it. Unless what was shown was on easy mode or something, I don't see any real chords in it. Looks just like GH except with a real guitar..

Thats an interesting vid, I can see why you say that, I believe that it starts off getting you to do a single chord and then as soon as you are hitting that it brings in more aspects of the song, as you gain fluency more of it opens up until you are playing every note. Graduated learning.

From what I have read after playing the game you can play the songs on the guitar with no need for the game.

And no, I don't have an electric guitar, I did, But I sold it when I realised I had next to no ability.

The last guitar I owned was an acoustic a few years back (and that tale will be on this forum somewhere) but alas, I bought that home, got a stern telling off, attached the strap, tuned it, let rip with a killer riff, the strap came off, the guitar plunged to the floor, snapping the neck.

But then it would also have had the 'no hardware' problem as well.

If you can pirate a working copy, you might as well, since you already paid for it.

1241685 2011-11-04 08:07:00 Well the method that you were currently looking at metla is called a JTAG, and since M$ keep their console devleoper/homebrew free they patched it very well, only a select group of consoles are JTAG able and that number is shrinking rapidly. I am actually working on a JTAG unit atm. Only recently has a complex method been worked out that allows the console to be "hacked" again. Yay!! good new for devs. It also allows games to be run from the HDD without the disk which is very handy in legitimate (and illegal) situations.

What you could do if you don't use live is "JTAG" your console with the new version (which is called RGH) or flash your 360's DVD drive with modified firmware. This firmware allows you to play backup copies of games which are usually region free. Since the hardware (guitar) works in any region a copied game will work and since you have a legit copy of the game etc I see no reason why it should be considered unethical to do this. Drive flashing costs $25 (I have a mate in masterton who could do it, it do it myself but I dont have the necessary SATA controller) The only thing is that it carries a risk if you play on LIVE, some people get away with it and it can be done but it is possible to get the console banned from live making it useful for offline play only.
