1242483 2011-11-08 18:19:00 Batteries alone shouldn't be creating the "pinko" affect.

It is more like a filter or setting function that has gone wrong.

The whites and blues don't appear to be affected in the photograph that you posted as an example :(

Was it just the greens that are pink?

1242484 2011-11-08 18:57:00 I wonder if the camera has a custom colour setting which may have been accidentally activated?
This is distinct from colour balance in the menu.

1242485 2011-11-08 19:07:00 Could possibly be the bad CCD problem

But the Powershot 430 is not in the profile (check your model)

1242486 2011-11-08 19:25:00 I am thinking try new batteries first, which are the best?

1242487 2011-11-08 20:40:00 Must say you make a handsome flyer Cic. Maybe the pink is because you resemble the Red Baron or something. Sorry I can't help with the pink grass, it's probably a Swannanoa thing. Richard (739)
1242488 2011-11-08 21:27:00 I doubt it would be the batteries, if the voltage gets low enough, it should just shut itself off.

A wrong colour setting or a fault with the camera seems more likely.

Possibly even the memory card is bad and the file was corrupted slightly. I have seen jpg files do all sorts of weird things due to corruption.

1242489 2011-11-08 21:56:00 Post some test here with your camera on Auto to see if it replicates the problem

1242490 2011-11-08 22:27:00 I replied to this thread and my post isn't here.....

Anyway nothing to add about the pink effect that hasn't been said but on the batterie front I'd reccomend the low self-discharge NiMH such as eneloop or similar

1242491 2011-11-09 01:30:00 If the photo is straight from file out of the camera and has not been processed in any way, I would suggest that you re-apply the original manufacturers settings in the camera and try again.

If that fails, I'm betting that there is an issue with the CMOS sensor.

1242492 2011-11-09 02:16:00 20 pics - did any have the same background without as much shiny aeroplane in the foreground? PaulD (232)
