1265406 2012-03-16 19:18:00 I have a Toshiba Satellite A10 which I am wanting to give away to a family member. Only issue with it is that it has a noisy CPU cooler fan

I'm not sure whether I can pack this with grease; or whether I will need to replace it.

Advice please

(if I need to replace, anyone got a fan for this model - willing to buy)

Cheers

1265408 2012-03-16 22:01:00 Yeah, if you use grease it needs to be very, very light, otherwise it can be gummy enough to stop the fan from turning!

As PCTek says, best to replace it. They're cheap enough, although you do need to watch out regarding the size and thickness of any replacement models.

One thing about this laptop; first time I have been able to access the CPU fan by removing ONLY 3 screws .. very impressive :)
