6127 2000-08-31 22:44:00 God morning,

Firstly and foremost I would like to complement you on this months PC World magazine. I found the magazine to be especially informative, especially the article on 'The Hacker Proof PC'. I have run the fixes listed. One other sight that maybe of interest to your readers is Steve Gibsons, sight at www.grc.com. He offers some great services with his 'Shields Up, and 'Probe my ports'
programmes.

I have recently set up a LAN with my sons PC,and set up 'MS Internet Connection Sharing' Everything is working o/k. Whenever his PC is booted, it wants to connect to the internet. I have been disabling thesharing through my PC, is there any settings that I can change, so it only connects when he requires it?

My second question is. When he goes to connect, he double clicks the IE icon. This works o/k, but how can he disconnect when he needs to. I have again been having to do this from my PC.

I have tried using the Remote Disconnection Utility that you had posted in your magazine, but have found it to not work very well. Can you suggest any other utility, or setting that would enable us to sort this problem out?

Although this is not really a big problem, it is more of a nuisance.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Once again guys, keep up the good work
