| 6111 | 2000-08-31 06:54:00 | A while back I took the advice of various articles / tech support people and wee messages that crop up on websites, I found the places to get an upgraded lucent modem driver and then some microsoft IE5 security and performance patches. I think I put them on my hard drive and assumed they would automatically route themselves and replace or attach to the correct parts in my system files - is this correct or are they just hiding in some backwater and not being used ? The reason I ask is that I have not noticed much improvement. P.S. I have a Gateway Performance 450 running Win98. |
