I have just bought a new computer with a 56k modem and installed IE 5.5 from the PC World disk. Problem is very slow connections and then I get timed out after a few minutes. Sending attachments is hopeless. My old computer with a 33.6modem and IE4.0 still work fine. Clear have given me heaps of different settings and none of those work. Could it be IE5.5? Could it be clashing with Norton antivirus? (I have McAfee on the old machine)
Computer suppliers have replaced the modem and that doesn't change anything (modem is conexant Soft56k) Telecom have checked out the line and that is OK. Any help would be appreciated |
