| 6590 | 2000-10-04 23:22:00 | My Zone Alarm firewall tells me everytime I log on to the internet ,about an exe file that is trying to access the internet. Problem is that each day the file has a different name, but what they all have in common is a file name that is gibberish, they all live in the windows directory, they are always the same size, and when trying to delete that days file am denied as it is in use by windows. I can delete previous days files but on starting up the computer am given warning messages that the files are required as they are in win.ini. I have run Norton Antivirus with the latest updates which doesn't acknowledge this problem as a virus. Some of the file names so far have been omgobwra.exe vaxqunxursnwy.exe vaxqhnxursnwy.exe awddl.exe jcpihq.exe xdvgvvblhbm.exe all files are 381KB. How do I stop this replicating file? Could I delete it from DOS and how do I tell what else it is doing apart from reproducing its self under a random filename and writing itsself into win.ini? |
