| 1266478 | 2012-03-23 03:25:00 | This is driving me crazy. I had PE9 installed on my desktop PC and laptop, as allowed by the Adobe license. Some weeks ago I passed the laptop on to my wife, after uninstalling PE9 and other software she didn't need. However, I forgot to "deactivate" PE9 before uninstalling it. Now I want to put PE9 on my new laptop, but after installation I got the "Already installed on 2 PCs" message. So I reinstalled it on my wife's computer - no problem, activation key accepted. I then tried to deactivate the license, but kept getting "Deactivation failed, try again" and all attempts to deactivate got the same result. I then closed down and restarted PE9 and got the "Already installed on 2 PCs" message. The Deactivate menu item was grayed out, so I assumed deactivation had worked in spite of the warning messages. I uninstalled the software from my wife's laptop and tried again to install on my own laptop. However, I still cannot activate PE9 and I keep getting told it is already installed on 2 PCs. I have tried to find my way through the Byzantine jungle that is Adobe's website, but I can't get any sense out of it. Can someone suggest a solution to this problem? Please. |
