The fact that their has been an incident is proof that they systems (that the company is responsible for) weren't good enough. In the event your company kills 29 people you can expect (deservedly) to get your arse nailed. No doubt OSH will want to be going after the owners of the mine, Which is near impossible so they may have to hit the management team, aiming has high up the ladder as possible. Lets hope some people do some jail time, And that the industry panics into action. |

You know who  Well wouldnt you think that if OSH were as infallible as some on this forum would suggest, then the accident wouldnt have happened in the first place? I thought they were there to prevent accidents, not play the blame game after the event. The reality is that OSH should be charged as an accessory to the tragedy. ;) |

I thought they were there to prevent accidents, not play the blame game after the event. The reality is that OSH should be charged as an accessory to the tragedy. ;) Your ignorance is astounding, Its impossible to inspect a workplace into a safe state, OSH play a role but its accepted that they can't make a work site safe, It has to be a cultural shift within the entire workplace with support from all levels. It works when everyone is working towards a common goal, It is folly to suggest that workplace can made safe by OSH inspections, Hence they offer guidance and react to complaints and incidents. Its the last rung of the ladder and if OSH are involved it means a situation has gone very very bad, that a company has failed to provide a safe place of work as is their legal obligation. |
