1243633 2012-01-12 05:47:00 Yeah NZ couriers here too...

It's been two weeks since I sent mine, guess I have to wait a bit longer. Apple's repair status page doesn't say anything new.

1243634 2012-01-12 08:26:00 According to Tracking, mine is back in town.
And that the courier has tried to deliver it twice.
They have not left a card either time.

Will be calling TNT tomorrow to get it delieverd to me at work.
Will be interested to see what I get.

1243635 2012-01-13 09:31:00 Did you have warranty? Do you believe any company would help you with an issue after 3 years?
Out of interest, what exactly do you mean by a "swollen battery"?
Obviously it is past the warranty time. Still, they count themselves as being the Mercedes of this industry(at least the price). For me still crap service!

1243636 2012-01-27 10:36:00 Just got an email from Apple, apparently:

"We have received your request for service for your IPOD NANO. Your Repair ID is xxxxxxxxx. "

"Within two business days, you should receive instructions for sending your product to Apple and an empty shipping box for you to use. instructions for sending your product to Apple and an empty shipping box for you to use. "

This all seems rather strange, because I already sent the iPod back to them several weeks ago, and they also seem unable to write emails properly. also seem unable to write emails properly. :p

Looking at the Service Status page on Apple.com tells me nothing except what's been there since last year, which is "November 18, 2011: Service requested" - and nothing else.

I assume this email is a sign that something might finally be happening, I guess we'll see soon enough. Or not.

1243637 2012-01-28 02:33:00 Got it.

It seems to have shrunk.

Had to download the latest iTunes and update the firmware, but can't complain, it has 8gig of memory.

1243638 2012-01-31 22:15:00 Yeah they had to start shipping newer ones because they ran out of old ones.

I received an email from Apple this morning saying my replacement has been sent out and will arrive in 5 working days.

I guess they didn't care about the broken screen after all.

1243639 2012-02-08 06:32:00 I think mine took the long way around, or was on the slow boat ;) Collected here on the 12th January, and got the following today.

"Your IPOD NANO reached the Apple repair center on 2012-02-08. We will notify you by email when your service request is complete."

Just as well ,my expensive  $29 MP3 player I brought in the meantime is working nicely eh !! :D

1243640 2012-02-08 10:29:00 Oh yeah, I received mine about a week ago.

All seems good, had to install Mediamonkey though as Winamp didn't work. Files would copy but the Nano said there was nothing there.

Haven't tested battery life yet - has anyone else? I saw stories on the Apple forums of people RMAing the replacements as they only had 4hrs instead of the 24hrs they should have.

Pity it's too new to let you install Rockbox :(
