| 1243712 | 2011-11-16 07:57:00 | I was amused to see Sue Bradford on TV this morning getting all twisted about the prospect of beneficiaries having to stay clean in order to still qualify for their dole. Seems she thinks the dole should be sufficient for indulging in the odd toke on a regular basis. Staying clean and work-ready should be a simple enough sacrifice in exchange for the taxpayers financial support (ie the dole). I have to commit my own hard earned after-tax monies, time and energy into staying work-fit. So why should beneficiaries be entitled to be idle, un-trained and stoned at my expense? A portion of my weekly efforts go to support beneficiaries. It's a sacrifice I have to make, like it or not. So now beneficiaries may have to chose whether or not they make a few drug-related sacrifices... like it or not... welcome to the world of the rest of the slaves who have been supporting you. On the other hand however, I do know of a number of sickness beneficiaries who rely on pot for pain relief... and there's a lot of good science to support this. THese new (proposed) rules may make a minority of the unemployed suffer unnecessary pain (which in turn may make them unemployable) I suppose the other arguement may be: "I didn't pay for the drugs - my friend was sharing his own - so I haven't been blowing my benefit on drugs" |

I guess if I was forced to pick a winner it would have to be Peters because at least he promises One Country, One Flag, One set of Rules and the Seabed and Foreshore returned to the Crown where it should rightly be. Its actually good to see some Part Maori (remember there are no known full-blooded ones) dont see themselves as inferior needing special treatment. Anyway, killing off the Separatism that Key has promoted would be a good start. :) |

| 1243716 | 2011-11-16 18:21:00 | The National Government under Jim Bolger started seperatism and got us where we are at today. :) You could argue that, but it was Key that instructed that the Maori Flag be flown from Government Buildings and gave the Seabed and Foreshore to the Maoris, or, more accurately, the part Maoris. And it doesnt stop there. :groan: |
