1242956 2011-11-12 00:55:00 No I would get no votes, or no, prisoners shouldn't build the holiday highway?
It would be better if they were part of the highway.:D

Pretty much. :p

1242958 2011-11-12 01:17:00 All very well the Greens wanting to build/support the building of a railway, but how are they going to run it? By the time they stop oil drilling, all mining and prevent any further building of electrical generation, there will be no fuel, no electricity and no fossil fuels so I dont see how they can run a train or anything else. They seem keen to stop these industries, but they havent got any solution.
The greens are about as nutty as all those in the Mana party, maybe they should combine parties, not only can we be returned to the dark ages, we can all be running around wearing grass dresses throwing sticks at whats left of the native animals for food that the Maoris havent exterminated already - and start eating each other once everything else has been killed off.
They are all a bunch of loonies - and add the Maori party to that as well.

Dunno about you but I wouldn't mind either way whether we mined or drilled for oil. :)

I dont have a problem with mining, drilling for oil or having wind generators on hills, I saw some down in southland near Winton (?) at Easter, thought they looked pretty neat actually.
Wait till we have power shortages again and make sure all the Greenies are the first ones to get cut off, then lets see who moans first. I'll be moaning second, because when there was power shortages, there was still enough to play rugby at night under lights when the poor people in Central Otago were sitting in minus 10 in winter!!!

I'm all for a railway, but a high speed railway, make the trip from Auckland to Wellington in 3 hours max or so. Be less planes, less trucks, less cars, less money spent repairing roads etc etc.

All the hot air from BM's anti everything except the old fashioned ways where everyone got injured but nobody ever complained because it wasn't manly to do so

1242962 2011-11-12 03:49:00 Some people take being green way too far. There is always going to trade-offs when generating electricity & wind farms are the best trade-off between "Green" and practical. The Southland wind farms don't look bad at all. Greven (91)

A lot of them aren't actually as green as they think, like one greenie I know that burnt their plastic milk bottles instead of recycling them.

You seem to be a little full of hot air at the moment as that is a second thread you have been having a go at BM over nothing.

It wasn't the prisoner labour I was against, it was the holiday highway. I'm all for prisoner labour ;)
