I have windows 98 with Explorer 5.5 installed and after talking to the help desk for Hewlett Packard I had to do a system recovery on my computer LOL that was three weeks ago but my explorer is still playing up but I don't want to ask them because I don't want to have to do another system recovery the following is what happens when I press Ctrl Alt Delete to restart my computer A dialog box appears and highlighted is 'Explorer' I press Alt E to end task Then the Dialog box appears asking to select restart or shut down computer etc Then I press restart A Dialog box then appears saying 'This program is not responding and that it is busy and is waiting for a response from me If I select End Task the computer well restart but on coming back it sometimes comes with a white screen asking me if I want to reactivate my active desktop I press yes But if I press cancel when the second dialog box appears asking me to end task my windows well come up with that famous blue screen and I have to wait for my computer to check for errors because it says windows was not shut down correctly I have restored my explorer back to its default settings so I don't know how to fix this without doing a system recovery and I don't want to do that again within three weeks Thankyou for reading this email letter and I hope you can help me Bernadine |
