My computer is a Compaq 1592DT. Recently after installing some progs vg IE 5 or even Nortons Utilities (!) on restart I get the dreaded notice: 'While initiating device IOS, either a file in the .\IO subsys. is corrupt or system is lo on memory'. I've had to reinstall ex the Compaq disc (win 95)several times. This requires reinstallation of all software and backed up files. Is it poss to load this machine with Win 98 and forget the Compaq diagnostics and features? I'm up the wall, being a clergyman who can't even manage a sermon with safety any more!
