| 6678 | 2000-10-12 01:47:00 | what is the relevance of *bps*?. My reason for asking is that whenever I have complained to my ISP (xtra) about the *bps* (33600), they state that the figure is not relevant. In the extra settings section of *modem properties*, I have previously been told to by xtra, to insert *+ms=34* Through a *Tip email* I entered *S11=35*, which is meant to speed up the modem dialling. It certainly does that but also has increased the *bps* to 54667 I am wondering that, if the *bps* is relevant, whether xtra deliberately uses the *+ms=34* to 'govern' modem speed?. |
