6669	2000-10-11 21:32:00	I have been testing 56k modems at home to see if I wanted to upgrade my 28800 modem. Haven't been satisifed. They connect OK (in the mid 30's) but seem to stall after a while. Last night I was at a friends house who has a US Robotics 56k and he also uses XTRA. We tried to download a largish file (0.8MB) and watched his extremely good download speed disappear as soon as he got to about 0.25MB. This pattern was repeated with different files from different locations. Another friend reported similar difficulties that XTRA were unable to help with. Mysteriously the problems vanished when he went to another ISP!! Anyone with thoughts or similar experiences? Scott	Guest (0)
