| 6723 | 2000-10-15 02:22:00 | I have recently installed a third hard disk in my computer (7.5GB Quantum) The third disk is on the secondary IDE controller and is configured as the master, the other device on that controller is the CD-Rom. My problem is that when I initially installed the device, I could'nt get the system to recognise it, I took the CD-Rom off and straight away I was able to Auto Detect the drive, I partitioned it and formatted it and it was designated Drive E. I restarted the system and it was recognised and I was able to access it and run utilities over it. I then shutdown the system reconnected the CD-Rom and restarted, during POST I noticed the drive had 'gone' (although it was still setup in CMOS). When I went to Control Panel and checked I have a yellow exclamation mark and drive E has gone. Can anybody help ? Cheers Pete |
