6732 2000-10-15 09:29:00 Well Outlook Express has always been my default email handler and after installing MS Outlook and not checking box for it to be my default email handler Outlook Express is now ignoring my requests for the new message dialogue box when I choose to send an email to someone via right clicking on their name and choosing the action to send mail. I am prompted to another dialogue box which seems to have some connection to MS Exchange!<--(no idea how to use this) I then uninstalled MS Outlook instructing it not to remove any shared files to other applications and in OE went to tools and selelcted OE to be my default email handler but this action does not stay after being applied it reverts to not being my default. So then I went to Internet Options > Programs in Control Panel and went to check what was handling my email AND NOTHING WAS...I suppose I am making this all very complicated by my explanation so my question is....

How do I add OE to be my default email handler? (Keeping in mind I think I have done the obvious being a novice)

BTW I have since (being just before I got here) reinstalled MS Outlook and this is now what appears in the email field when I go to Control Panel > Internet Options > Programs

Your help would be most appreciated and I thank you in advance...

Oh and one more thing the option to use MS Outlook is not one I would take up.

Thanks
