I have a 486 computer and am trying to get the cdrom working. It is a Creative Quad speed 420E drive, which plugs into the IDE connector on a Creative SB16 card.I've loaded the sound drivers and have sound.I've loaded the SBIDE driver and the CD drivers, all of which i downloaded from Creative's website. The SBIDE shows up in device manager/system/hard disk controllers. The problem is Windows (95) doesnt recognise/find the CD drive.I have worked out I can connect the CD Drive to the spare connector on the primary IDE controller & set it to slave and then Windows finds it. But under this setup I cant run two harddrives.Could there be an IRQ conflict when using the Secondry IDE controller on the sound card?
