6780 2000-10-20 03:22:00 All 5 PCI slots are full on my PC and the S/B Live (value) Lava facility is conflicting with the modem IRQs. The other cards are Matrox Marvel (video capture), ihug Satellite and SCSI. I am planning to format the hard drive and reinstall Windows Me this weekend and plan to shift the S/B Live to the first slot and the modem to the last. Is this likely to avoid the IRQ conflict that occurred during the last install (S/B does not let you change the IRQs)?

Also my Gigabyte motherboard drivers do not allow the DVD drive to be installed as the master on the secondary IDE channel (the obscure mention at the end of the read me file took a while to notice!). I plan to move the DVD but to where? I read somewhere that having a CD/DVD on the same channel as a hard drive can slow the hard drive to that speed. Most important is the speed of the drive I use for video capture (27GB 7200 UDMA 66) currently installed on the second IDE (with the DVD). The 1st has a 17GB (5400 UDMA 66) drive used for software and a 4GB used as backup. What would be the optimum layout?
