| 7087 | 2000-11-13 23:57:00 | I have 2 HDD at the moment. The new 10 GB is ok, the problem is the old 2.5 GB. It seems to be making a noise similar to rough bearings. it still works ok but I would like to disconnect the drive to see if that is the problem. I suspect it is as I upgraded 12 months ago to an Athlon 550 with all new hardware, case etc. The only old bit was the old HDD. Can any one please detail the steps to disconnect the old HDD. It is set up as a slave? and lists as D. The primary drive is partioned and lists as C and E.I do not have anything of importance on the drive. I have been in the box in the past and installed a PCI card but am not so sure mucking around with the BIOS. I note that the motherboard handbook mentions auto detect for the HDD. I really need some advice. Many thanks. |
