Hi I am in the market for a new PC to use professionally for recording and playback of audio. It has been recommended to me to buy 2 hard drives, one for audio and one for OS. Will I lose anything by simply partitioning a larger harddrive into two drives rather than buying two totally seperate items? High performance of the audio drive is required. Also, I believe a 7200rpm ATA drive will be almost as fast as a (far more expensive) SCSI drive, am I correct? What are the advantages of SCSI in terms of speed? |
