1268425 2012-04-05 06:04:00 Anyone able to help, with this problem, please.
Have had issues for past few weeks, no months now, with internet connection dropping out 3-5 x a day, and at various times of the day.
Can only reconnect by resetting network connection.
We have filters on all our jackpoints, have not made any changes, no alarms etc
Telecom sent replacement Thomson wireless and over next few days, same. :angry:angry:angry:angry
Finally they sends me a Technicolor TG582n and that’s same. I went through changing channel every time it stopped. My list says I've changed 7 out of 11 channels.
I'm guessing that it's a modem problem was told their Technicolor TG582n was the best they had.
Any one else able to help, please? :badpc:

1268426 2012-04-05 07:15:00 No problems here with Technicolor TG582n - good speed, stable. Got it > a month now without a single drop out. :)

Phone Telcom and get them to check your line.

1268427 2012-04-05 07:38:00 I trust the timeout setting within these modems has been set to zero?! (ie don't timeout) Paul.Cov (425)

First, how do I set that?

Second re line drop outs. When I had connected with eartnet cable, no drop outs at all.

Telecom have tested line and all okay there.

It's just wireless that is dropping out.

It's just wireless that is dropping out. Since its only the wireless, try dropping the security level down one stage.
If its not dropping on Ethernet, then I'd be a little surprised if its the modem/router, esp since several have been tried with all the same problem.

Not sure about that, but have changed from WPA + WPA@ to WPA 2.

Is that corrected?

1268431 2012-04-05 09:02:00 Can you confirm that the wireless signal from the router is at fault?
Have you confirmed the problem / tried a second wireless computer?
If you have an Android phone there's an app that will show signal strength - that could help determine whether the signal from the router is fluctuating.

Thats lowered it.

The reason I mentioned before that I doubt its the modem router is by what was written in the original question / Post

Original modem, replacement, then a third replacement -- Whats the chances of all 3 doing the exact same thing, dropping the wireless signal output and the Ethernet connection is OK - while not impossible, highly unlikely.
