1268208 2012-04-03 07:01:00 I must be missing something but cannot figure out what it is.

Computer had a hissy fit and when I rebooted, the quick launch option on the task bar was missing.

Ok, no hassle there, create a new tool bar, enter code for the Quick Launch and presto, all done.

Problem is, now it won't open unless I right click the Quick Launch tab and go to Open Folder or I can single click on the >> next to the Quick Launch and it opens a drop down menu of small icons.

Previous, all I had to do was single click on the Quick Launch tab and it would open straight to a explorer like window box with all the quick launch programs listed in that box as large icons. That is what I am trying to re-create now with out much luck.

Have deleted the Quick Launch and created a new one but still coming up with the problem above.

Any other idea's.?

1268209 2012-04-03 07:18:00 Windows 7 QL kind of works different to the older style.

Try this, on the program/folder you want to have in the taskbar, right click it send to desktop, create shortcut. On the shortcut right click, pin to taskbar. Once its pinned you can delete the desktop shortcut if you want and the pinned version will stay put, and open the program or folder its linked to.

To remove the shortcut from the taskbar, right click it, unpin. This here (www.sevenforums.com) is more indepth.

1268210 2012-04-03 07:46:00 Thanks Wainuitech but doesn't work here. Have followed the link as well.

I can create what I need by single right click on the Quick Launch and Open Folder but it won't allow me to simply click and open straight to a open folder with all the program icons.

I can live with it, just a case of remembering that the quick launch on this laptop no longer behaves the same way as my other laptops.

Thanks

Windows 7 doesn't come with a Quick Launch tab by default but it is possible to create one which I have done.

Technically yes, though that's simply a folder called Quick Launch :p
