1268159 2012-04-03 02:05:00 Hello,

Noticed this problem immediately when we got our new Logitech HD C525 webcam 2 months ago - it's now at the point of being simply annoying so want to do something .

Everytime a video call is started (by either party), a few seconds (randomly) after the call starts, my webcam freezes for no longer than a minute, then goes back to normal for the rest of the call (of various durations) . I could ignore it but sometimes am on video call for work meetings and it's not a good look .

What are your suggestions to look at?

I wonder if it is somehow related to the Logitech Webcam Controller that annoyingly keeps popping up during the video call? I can't figure out how to turn that off . There doesn't seem to be that option in it's lacklustre menu .

Am using Windows 7 . Skype is 5 . 5 . 0 . 124

Thanks

1268160 2012-04-03 02:19:00 Update Skype yours is out of date. Its up to 5.8.0.158 Speedy Gonzales (78)
1268161 2012-04-03 04:50:00 That seems to have solved it, thanks :)

Wonder if anyone knows about stopping the Webcam Controller from popping up automatically?

1268162 2012-04-03 04:56:00 What does this webcam controller popup say? Kaspersky isnt installed is it? This is known to screw up webcams. And will even stop them from working altogether Speedy Gonzales (78)
1268163 2012-04-03 05:03:00 the whole window/box pops up with options to adjust webcam if required. It's not a specific message...
How would I check if i have Kaspersky?

1268164 2012-04-03 05:10:00 Un install webcam programs might do what you want I don't bother installing any as the cam is only used for Skype.

Kasperky is an anti virus a paid one so if you don't know what it is it's doubtful you have it installed

1268166 2012-04-03 06:28:00 Open the software - preferences - software settings - untick "Auto launch webcam controller" Peter H (220)
