1268140 2012-04-02 20:57:00 Morning all

Successfully did a swing migration from SBS2003 to SSB2011. I have setup the meetings rooms as resources in Exchange 2010, and these book nicely with the new 'rooms' button (all users are Office 2007).

However the other resources have me stumped. The old method meant that a user would search for their desired resource (say Laptop1) and then change the status from Required Attendee to Resource. A bit of a pain but worked.

Now with Exchange 2010 I have the 'equipment' mailboxes setup, but can't for the life of me figure out the 'new' way of booking them. Users can (and are) still booking them the old way, but if non-meeting room resources are now equipment mailboxes, there must be an easier way to book them? I have created an All Equipment list in Exchange 2010 and filtered it, and the resources appear there, but even if you select Laptop1 that way, you still have to change it from Required Attendee to Resource, unless users remember to hit the 'resource' button.

I know this is going to be a 'kick myself' moment, but what am I missing here?

Have googled this to death, nearly all posts are on how to setup the resource boxes, or how to book meeting rooms and not other resources.

Cheers in advance.

1268142 2012-04-10 00:57:00 I'm really surprised that no one has struck this issue...I know users can click the "Add Attendees" then click a resource after finding it on the list and then click the "Add Resource" button, but really, what a hassle.
Before the migrations users would enter the name of the resource "say Laptop1" then Ctrl-K to bring it up, then change Laptop1 from Required Attendee to "Resource". I though that at the absolute minimum, after the migration that doing the same thing would automatically change Laptop1 to a Resource - after all, it's entered as an Equipment mailbox. But no, nothing has changed in that respect. Otherwise why would you even bother setting up Equipment under an Equipment mailbox, unless it actually does something??
