2012-04-02 03:49:00 | Yeah, Personal recommendations are a different beast then a list of names. Thanks for the suggestions though, especially that last line. As far as I'm aware WMP doesn't rip to ACC......

2012-04-02 04:01:00 | I've used all of them and they all work :) As for the ACC format, yeah sorry I knew that about WMP but I slipped it in there anyway.

2012-04-02 04:52:00 | What is this new "ACC" format . Does it relate to Nick Smith? . . . . . . . Or do you mean Advanced Audio Coding - AAC ;) In which case, the best would be Mediamonkey 4 (Free) ( . mediamonkey . com/download/" target="_blank">www . mediamonkey . com) with MediaMonkey Codec Pack 2 . 0 . 0 . 14 (30 day trial)

2012-04-02 08:51:00 | I use EAC. www.exactaudiocopy.de You can get a codec to encode to AAC if you want.

2012-04-02 22:54:00 | All those listed above are what I use and are OK. But then their are various settings, which perhaps need to be compared, depending on your need for quality and userability. Features like gapless playback, checksum comparisons, connection to gracenotes or online database for instant info. Setting up tags/display filenames (for preferentail display in players). Then you may want to consider encoders/codecs to find what is the best, in terms of bitrates, linearity, depth, etc. Hydrogen Audio, ACC FAQ discussion (wiki.hydrogenaudio.org) codecs, and their forum posts about ACC (www.google.com 3Dhydrogenaudio%26source%3Dweb%26cd%3D1%26sqi%3D2% 26ved%3D0CB8QFjAA%26url%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.h ydrogenaudio.org%252F%26ei%3DpRt6T6P5Lo2ciAfHk53zB A%26usg%3DAFQjCNHfN4_7UklEqxp90ff9RNf2CUqyvg#gsc.t ab=0&gsc.q=best%20acc%20codec&gsc.page=1) tend to be scientific (even with fancy formulas for lossless/lossy I have seen) and in depth might help.
