2012-03-31 21:37:00 | I have a 320gb ntfs Verbatim 2.5" 4500 rpm usb hard drive attached to my Linksys WRT610N router. It has plenty of space on it. When I try and copy a larger file (say 4gb plus) to it, either from a cabled or wireless N PC, I get a message like 'file size too large'. What's up?

2012-03-31 21:47:00 | Is it definitely NTFS? Just asking as that is what I would expect from FAT32 | gary67 (56) | |
2012-04-01 00:14:00 | Once upon a time, long, long ago, there was a limit on the size/number of files in the root folder - I would have expected NTFS to be way past this problem. To check, try putting the file into a sub-folder.

2012-04-02 01:24:00 | Linksys definitely supports both NTFS and FAT32. Connect the 2.5" HDD directly to a PC and check what file system it is formatted as per this article (www6.nohold.net). | tmrafi (5179) | |
2012-04-02 08:55:00 | Actually when I try to copy 4GB+ files to a FAT32 partition I get the error that the drive is full. If the drive is definitely NTFS it could be a problem with the router firmware itself. Maybe there is an upgrade you need?

2012-04-02 09:02:00 | Looks like it may only support FAT32. Even if you format it in NTFS (homecommunity.cisco.com) | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
