| 1243868 | 2011-11-16 22:22:00 | That other Steve is making Ballmers again . According to this article's ( . nzherald . co . nz/google/news/article . cfm?o_id=600581&objectid=10766467" target="_blank">www . nzherald . co . nz) headline, Winders is/are everlasting . I will concede that it is capable of being slow, even sluggish, out-of-the-box; and admittedly it has always added even more lethargy with use; but "everlasting" is drawing rather a long bow . It barely allows time to make a good cup of coffee during boot-up, that is a few orders of magnitude shy of everlasting but apparently that is their goal . This has been a novel month for the giants: Apple has managed to be mentioned for good service; a feat that normally involves one of the smaller apple products and a tennis racquet . Steve the Ballmer has said something I agree with - a first . He reportedly stated " . . . while doing business in China, Ballmer said the company is careful to do no more than the law there requires . " That sounds right - they've consistently done just that everywhere else too, and quite frequently less . ;) |

| 1243873 | 2011-11-17 01:57:00 | ""We are in the Windows Era," Ballmer said. "We were, we are, and we always will be."" That sounds ominously like a commentary at say, The Olympics, when we are told confidently "He's got this race in the bag!" and then the athlete trips up or faints! |
